Myca Raises $1.3 Million to Expand Across Latin America

India-based technology startup Myca has raised $1.3 million in pre-seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform designed to manage agribusiness field operations. The investment will support product development, engineering team expansion, and growth across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, according to AgFunderNews.

The funding round was led by Kriscore Capital and Eximius Ventures, with participation from Indigram Labs Foundation and angel investors from the agricultural sector.

The company develops AI-powered tools that organize information generated by field workers and automate follow-up tasks traditionally handled by supervisors.

Its technology addresses a major operational challenge for agribusiness companies: obtaining accurate, real-time information about activities taking place across farms, procurement networks, warehouses, and geographically dispersed commercial operations.

In many emerging markets, critical business activities are still coordinated through WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and spreadsheets.

Although these communication channels support daily operations, the information they generate is not always integrated into centralized business management systems.

Myca uses AI agents to transform messages, photographs, and phone calls into structured data, helping companies improve coordination and operational monitoring.

The platform operates alongside existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems rather than replacing them.

This approach allows companies to connect information generated by field teams with their administrative, commercial, and logistical processes.

Its applications include field sales, crop surveys, procurement planning, credit assessments, warehouse management, and logistics tracking.

The platform also automates follow-up activities after information is collected, aiming to reduce the administrative workload of field supervisors.

Myca launched its product in April in India and Indonesia and, according to the company, is now active in eight countries.

Among the businesses Myca identifies as customers are Bayer, Olam Food Ingredients, ETG-Parrogate, BigHaat, and Dayatani.

The startup was founded by Arnav Pandey, Tejas Dinkar, and Seamus Tardif, who serve as chief executive officer, chief technology officer, and chief revenue officer, respectively.

Before establishing Myca, the founders built another agritech company in Southeast Asia that reportedly generated more than $100 million in revenue.

Their previous experience helped them identify the challenges agricultural businesses face when coordinating large numbers of workers across different regions.

Tardif explained that the scale of field operations varies significantly between developed markets and countries where smallholder farming plays a major role.

While some North American companies operate with relatively small field teams, agricultural businesses in India may need to coordinate thousands of workers.

This difference creates opportunities for technologies capable of processing large volumes of information and improving operational oversight.

Expansion into Latin America is a central part of Myca's international growth strategy, alongside new opportunities in Africa and Southeast Asia.

The company believes that regions with substantial smallholder farming activity have specific needs for digitalization and field operations management.

Although its technology could potentially be adapted to other industries, Myca intends to maintain its focus on agribusiness.

Pandey acknowledged potential applications in fast-moving consumer goods but emphasized that the company's immediate priority is developing solutions for the agricultural sector.

The fundraising process also highlighted the challenges agritech startups face when seeking venture capital.

According to the CEO, negotiations extended over several months because attracting investors to agricultural technology businesses operating in emerging markets remains difficult.

The founders noted that investor expectations have changed compared with previous years, with greater emphasis on revenue potential, business sustainability, and credible growth strategies.

During negotiations, Myca rejected several offers because the proposed terms and valuations did not meet the founders' expectations.

The company ultimately completed the round with investors supporting its next stage of development.

The newly secured funding will primarily support engineering expansion, additional product capabilities, and stronger commercial operations in international markets.

Myca also indicated that it may pursue another funding round in the future, although it has not announced a specific timeline or fundraising target.

The investment comes amid growing interest in artificial intelligence applications capable of performing operational tasks rather than simply generating information.

For agribusiness companies, these tools could improve the connection between activities carried out in the field and centralized management systems.

Myca's next challenge will be demonstrating that its AI agents can improve operational efficiency at scale, particularly in agricultural markets that depend on extensive networks of field workers, farmers, suppliers, and commercial partners.
